Brake System

The brake system is the primary active safety system of the vehicle.

The brake pads, discs and brake fluid make up the braking system and act in combination to guarantee your safety. If even one of these parts is damaged, your vehicle's braking system will be less effective. The service life of brake pads depends on the type of vehicle, the conditions of use and the road network. Also, wear on the discs and brake pads is interrelated to a reduction in brake fluid level to maintain the necessary brake pedal height.

Replacement of components for the maintenance of the braking system

Brake pads

Their wear is caused by friction during braking. It is therefore important that they are checked at regular intervals and replaced before they reach the minimum permissible level (approximately 2mm thick). If they are not replaced there is a risk of disc wear.

Brake discs

As with the pads, they must be checked at regular intervals and replaced when they are worn to the minimum permissible thickness and/or distortion exceeds the tolerance given by the manufacturer for each vehicle. If a disc is worn, the pads do not exert the pressure required for effective braking.

Brake fluid

In order to ensure maximum efficiency, brake fluid should be replaced according to the vehicle manufacturer's maintenance schedule.
